This is a paid-membership educational service website for apprentice tattoo artists that explains how to set up and tune either a rotary tattoo machine or coil tattoo machine, in easy to understand steps, so that it will work right the first time.

This website is the digital version of  the hard copy of the textbook: How To Setup Your Tattoo Machine, written in 2004 by Tattoo-ologist Joshua Andrews. The textbook and this website were created for tattoo artists for their apprentice tattoo artists so that the tattoo artists and tattoo studios can invest less time instructing their apprentices in theory and show & tell  by sending their apprentices to this website to learn, and focus more time on tattooing and teaching by example.

Joshua Andrews learned how to tattoo in Israel in the late 1990′s under Alexei of Planet Tattoo,  and he has been researching and writing about tattoos and tattooing ever since then. When he is not busy researching tattooing, he works as a freelance multi-media & kustom kulture artist in Toronto, Canada. His work has been on MTV and the Jon Dore Show, and his clientele are the who’s who of corporate Canada ranging from Warner Brothers to Remy Martin Cognac, to Converse Shoes.
